PON (Passive optical networks) it is a set of quickly developing perspective technologies of broadband multiservice access via optical fiber.The core of PON technology is that, its distribution network is built withoutusing of active components:optical signal splitting on one fiber optical line is realized with splitters.

 Structure of any passive optical network consists of three basic elements: OLT (optical line terminal), passive optical splitters and ONT (optical network terminal).OLT provides PON network interaction with internal networks. Splitters perform splitting of optical signal on PON. ONT has all required subscriber interfaces. PONarchitectureenablestoprovide«point-to-multipoint» solutions.It is possible to connect treelike fiber optical segment, inclusive tens of subscribers to one port of central node. At the same time splitters are installed in intermediate tree nodes, and do not need powering and servicing.

 In today`s world when increase of traffic volume(multimedia, voice, television, including high definition one)and increase of subscriber requirements to data rate, PON technology is capable to provide high data rate. It becomes one of the basic channels for broadband access providing.

 TurboGEPON technology is one of the kinds of PON technologies providing 2,5 Gbps data rate and enabling to build access networks for tenement houses, business centers, large-scale enterprises and settlements with the following advantages:

Service access rate: up to 2.5 Gbps through single fiber with DBA (dynamic bandwidth allocation) support. Lack of served nodes with active equipment – between station and subscriber equipment there are passive splitters only.Effective using of fiber optical cable resources (up to 64 subscribers via one fiber).
